A new motor, Grundfos SP8-50,10HP electric pump, new draw pipes-2” and control panel rehabilitation were used to restore this large water system. Mukuria water project is an old water project which was done by The Lifewater Kenya years back and serves more than a population of 3000 people. They have a borehole which pumps water to a masonry tank on higher ground and gravitates water to the beneficiaries of this water project to house holds and water kiosks. The motor of the pump was burnt beyond repair and the control panel needed a major overhaul. Before the repair of this borehole the people got hit by water shortage and some were buying water from the water vendors and walking long distances in search of water. The community is now very grateful for the support from The Lifewater Kenya in bringing the water project back to good operation. |
