Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The New LBS Community is very grateful for the workshop conducted on Feb 20, 2017 with 41 people in attendance.

This area was bought by the Liberian Government in 1980, and was intended to be used for the construction of a modern radio station to be named The New Liberian Broadcasting Station or New LBS, but due to the civil war in 1990, the facility was abandoned and was later used as a refuge center for displaced people. They have occupied this land ever since and have decided to use it as their new home forever.  Some of the people are involved in Petty Trading and some agricultural work, but for most, life in this community has been unbearable being unemployed and having nothing to provide for their livelihood. In addition to their difficulties, a lack of safe water has been an issue, and the people would have to walk 20 minutes in search of safe water.  But thanks to Lifewater this issue has been solved for this community and others.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
