The Kpelletay Town is located in the district of Kokoyah, in the County of Bong. It is on the road after Doe’s Town. Kpelletay Town community is high in population with men, women and children. This populated community depends on burning coal and cassava farming to make a living. The people of Kpelletay Town do not have a latrine in the community, they use the bushes and unfinished building for toilet. The only source of water in this area were running creeks, so the need for a well here was needed greatly. The road leading to this Town is very bad with lots of damaged bridges, the community is poorly built with the front view having shops and many local businesses. But this community doesn’t have safe drinking water; the inhabitants use water from the creek. A woman explained to Lifewater’s Health and Hygiene Team that “we know that the creek water is not good for drinking but we have no hand pump in this town therefore we are compel to drink from the creek.” On January 12, 2018 a Health & Hygiene Workshop was conducted and 35 people attended. The people learned how to break the movement of disease. Combined with the new well, the people's lives will be much improved. This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
