The Central Watco Camp Community is located not too far from the Monrovia Junction in Grand Bassa County. This community was named by the Lamco JV Operating Company that used this area as a pick-up drop-off point for their employees to travel to and from work. This area grew into a little community with new businesses and dwelling areas for non workers of the Company, populated with mostly women and children. The lack of safe drinking water has been a serious challenge for them, having running streams and open hand dug wells as the only sources of water. The Health and Hygiene Team visited Central Watco Camp on August 19,2018 and had 23 participants. The lessons were taught and demonstrated to them of which they accepted with gratitude to the entire Lifewater Family for their good work. The people expressed that they were given the gift of life and will always cherish the water brought to them.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
