Dear Sir We the members of this community extend our thanks and appreciation to the family of Lifewater Liberia Inc. for their good humanitarian work towards us all. For the past 20 years we have been suffering because of the lack of safe water and we rejoice that those days are over. Thank you Mr Gabriel Toe |

Old Community Land is also a part of Compound # 3 located in Grand Bassa County. It is situated behind Central Wayzohn. The name 'Old Community Land' got its name because it established long before other communities within Compound # 3 were established. It was established in 1968. Old Community Land is very large in population and land area. The women and children are more than men. Subsistence farming, small businesses are main sources of support to their families. They grow variety of cash crops, to name a few rice, cassava, eddoes bitter ball , pepper etc. There is one major problem this Community is faced with and that over a long period of time that has caused sicknesses, The Lifewater Health and Hygiene Team was on time to rescue the Old Community Land from this this unhealthy condition. The Team conducted a workshop that taught the participants about purifying there water for their domestic use and how to protect themselves from sicknesses by putting into practice the basic method by washing their hands before eating and after using the toilet. The participants of the workshop were also taught on how to maintain a safe environment (disposing of garbage away from the Community and not leave feces in or around the Community. The people of this community appreciated the Health and Hygiene Team for their good work. Old Community Land inhabitants promised to put, what they learn from the Workshop and they will make part of their daily life. As the Drilling Team arrived in the Community, the people of old community land quickly gather to see the arrival of the team singing and dancing, praising God for solving their long bad water problem. They also join the drilling team supporting them in praying to God for a successful completion of their well.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
