A message from the community

Dear Sir,

As a community we would like to thank you for what you have given to us.  For so many years we have suffered in our health from the water that we have available to drink.  Sickness has plagued us constantly.

We have high hopes that that is a thing of the past and we look forward to caring for this new well and the hope that it brings to all of us.

Thank you

Augustine Kiamue

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

New Community is located in Compound #3 a few minutes' walk from Old Community Land Grand Bassa Country.  The population is large with women and children making up the highest number Despites the location of the community near one of Liberia’s oldest Agriculture Company (LAC) There is a serious need and lack of safe drinking water for the population.

During the dry season the open hand dug wells goes dry leaving them with the option go to the nearby swamp water and creeks. This satiation have left women and children vulnerable  to diseases like running stomach, skin diseases and other water borne diseases.

The Health and Hygiene Team of Life water conducted a workshop taught the participants how to keep themselves safe by taking good care of their environment.   They were taught about the process of purifying water before consumption.  We grateful to the sponsors and the Life water team said one of the community leaders.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
