Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Old Land Community is located in Compound #3, Grand Bassa County. It was established 1968 and falls within the same land surrounding of Old Land Community -2. The population is also very large comprising mostly of women and children. Their livelihood is based mainly on subsistence farming that they grow sell to the market and used some for feeding and they also engage in petty trading.

They are faced with the lack of safe drinking water obtaining what water they can find from hand dug wells or walking long distances to fetch water from other communities that have more hand dug wells. As a result of this problem their families often suffer from water borne diseases like running stomach, diarrhea, skin diseases or sometimes experience serious out-breaks of cholera.

The Workshop conducted by Health and Hygiene Team of Lifewater, taught them how water can be purified domestically and that was there main challenge of making water from hand dug wells or the creek s around their community safe for drinking and other usage. . The lessons taught were also demonstrated  to  the participants.

At the end of the Workshop, on behalf of Old Land Community Q- 3, the Black leader  thank the Lifewater Health and Hygiene Team and their Sponsor. They express a high level of gratitude by praising God for his Goodness and the work done for the water.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
