A message from the community

Dear Sir/Madame,

We are pleased to greet the Lifewater family and workers and sponsors. We offer to everyone our gratitude and prayers for hearing the cries of our heart.

As the community representative I offer these simple words that do no justice to the immensity of the influence that this new handpump will have on all who use the new well.  We have suffered many outbreaks of disease that since the workshop we now know was from our previous drinking water dug well and the river that we use when the well ran dry.

It is with great joy that we anticipate this threat to lessen and look forward to being able to provide for our children and ourselves in a better way.

Thank you so much

Mother Serena Bestman

Lead Woman of Fanti Town

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Quarter # 2 is located at the upper part of Quarter#1 and is also called Fanti Town. It is the commercial center of the entire City where fishes are bought by marketers from different places in Liberia and there you find also a lots of Ghanaian fishermen.

Like other parts of this city, the problem of lack of safe drinking water remain a huge challenge, until the coming in of the Lifewater drilling team.

During our Hygiene workshop it was seen personally how poor their hygienic practices were. The lessons shared at that time were very helpful and the locals were much more aware how important it was to take good care of their environment to keep safe from sicknesses by removing dirt within the town and purifying water domestically before consumption as well as not letting the many6 dogs run loose all over town.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
