A message from the community

Dear Sir,

We the many dwellers in Noyea Town have learned much during your time spent with us.

We value the new well that has been given by the many donors, who although they have never met us or physically seen our plight, they have reached out and met a huge need.  We will not forget them and the kindness that they have met out to us.

Thank you from us and from our children who have been constantly sick and threatened by the bad water that we had to drink.

May God bless all of you.

Respectfully

Jusu Miller

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Noyea Town Q1 is located along the Monrovia - Buchanan Highway. It is a part of an area called German Camp. Noyea was named after a big tree that the Bassa people refer to as Noyea. This town was established in 1910 after the tree was cut down to make room for its establishment by a man name Yeeyoung Buegon. The town is large and populated predominately by youth.

Their main source of water is from creeks, river and streams. The inhabitants complain of constant lowgrade sicknesses because of the kind of water they have been drinking and other domestic use.

As the Hygiene team Workshop teaching progressed, the attendants began to see why they were getting sick and the questions asked indicated that they would take the lessons to improve their life through the hygiene basic practices & purifying water methods they were learning.

We also encouraged them to continue to keep their surroundings clean and taught them how to properly dispose of garbage & human waste.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
