A message from the community |

Dear Sir, It is an uplifting gift that brings joy to all who will draw from this new pump. As a whole village we offer to you our thanks and appreciations. Our situtation has been hard and you have eased our distress with your generosity. We pray that the Lord we serve and love bless you and keep you all in good health so you may reach out this helping hand to others in our nation that suffer from lack of safe water to drink. Our humblest gratitude Charles W. Peowah, Town Chief |

Brown's Town Q#4 is located around the Harbel area within the Firestone belt. This town falls under a community called Kparnyah that gave birth to Brown's Town. Brown's Town was named after an old man called Mr. Brown who established the Town. The population is also large(650) with women and children making up the most in numbers. The people of this town earn their living from burning coal and farming. The town does not have any good source of safe drinking water causing them to fetch water from any little creek around the town or from the swamp. They have been at a high risk of attracting diseases because of the poor sanitary environment they live in. But as the Health and Hygiene Team of Lifewater entered there they were able to teach the inhabitants of this Town about the basic hygiene practices. The workshop was conducted for the community on how they should live healthy life. They were taught how to take care of the pump, to keep their environment clean and how to wash their hands before eating and after using the toilet. The Team told them to always practice what was taught them. The community extended their thanks and appreciation for the well and the teaching. They promised to always go by what they were taught in the Workshop.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
