A message from the community |
Dear Sir/Madame, Greetings. We acknowledge with our thanks the receipt of the three x 3,000 liter tanks. We have distributed them, as usual through secret balloting and the members are all very happy. The Naishi Location Village Elders Self Help Group was started and registered in 2009. It consists of 3 sub-locations namely, Muthiga, Naishi and Pwani. Each of these sub-locations received one of the tanks and they are filled by piping in water collected off the roofs. It works most excellently! Due to the vastness of the location and the high population in each village there are 2 village elders. We have a total of 22 members which includes our area chief and three assistant chiefs. Naishi location is known for its perennial lack of adequate clean water, no rivers or dams are accessible. Community and village leaders are forced to travel long distances to other locations in search of water for both domestic and livestock usage. In this regard members started to buy tanks on a merry go round system. We have already supplied 12 tanks to our members which include the 8 tanks previously supplied by Lifewater ministries. We have aged village elders living with their children and grand children who will all benefit from clean water harvested from their homes. Time wasted during travel in search of water will now be used for other economical activities. Members are sincerely appreciative of your assistance and ask the good Lord to pour out His blessings on all who have reached out to help us. Not only have our lives been made easier but our health has seen a notable improvement as the water born disease we constantly struggle with is lessening. Please consider us again as the need for further assistance remains. God's blessing to you all Sincerely Handson Nyaga Project Chairman |
