A message from the community |

To all who made this new well possible! Please receive our greetings and abundant joy as we try to communicate to you the blessing that this new well means to all who will now draw safe water from it. We have had years of struggles, every day treking long ways to get water that is less than desirable. After a while people had let go of the hope that life would change but your presence and support has restored that hope and we are all very grateful for your help. How to express that thanks is difficult. Hours everyday we have extra to use for better activities than searching for water. We know that our children will do better in school with not having to get up so early to fetch water and have less sickness because the water is there to hydrate and it is above all safe for them. So in summary, please accept our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for this great humanitarian act that you have extended to all of us. Principle Amos Harunda

The water well will be serving 400 students and 20 working staff. The area is rural with a widely dispersed population. People get water from streams that originate from the Mau Escarpment. The streams don’t provide clean drinking water because the water is polluted upnstream by animals and human activities. Also people walk long distances to get water from the stream. |
