A message from the community |
Dear Sir, The people of this rural mission Abuja chapter, in the North Central zone wish to write this note of thanks for the provision of our new toileting facility. We are all very grateful for our support and ask God almighty to reward you in Jesus mighty name. Thank you goes to all who made this possible. Faithfully yours Shalom Rural Mission |
Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
When people don't have toilets, they defecate outdoors. This creates very unsanitary and disease-breeding conditions, especially when rains come and the excrement begins to migrate throughout a community. Community toilets and accompanying hand-washing stations like the new ones at Dobi are truly life-saving.
Through our activities, this part of town which is developing was blessed with the first drilled well in the area. Often neglected for the little political value attached since most of the residents are new settlers, facilities such as toilets were also completely absent. A Christian Missionary group operates from here and the toilet is built on their property but available to everyone. Now when missionaries travel from different locations for conferences, they will have no need to run into the bush to ease themselves. More so, the toilet stands as a testimony to Gods love and a clear voice against open defecation and the associated health hazards. |
