A message from the community

When the pump broke down, it threw us into a rollercoaster. So when we asked for help and you responded, we were delighted and forever grateful for the accessibility of clean and fresh water. May God bless you.

James Kiiu, Headteacher, Mikeu Primary School

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Mikeu Mikeu Secondary School in Dundori, in Kenya's Nakuru County, has 871 students. The school’s water well broke down for several months, forcing staff to limit the cooking of food at the institution and to frequently sending students down to the river to fetch water for drinking and cleaning purposes. Those months were very challenging, recalls Headteacher James Kiiu.

Today, he and everyone else at Mikeu Mikeu Secondary School is very grateful that Lifewater Canada donors have funded the repair of the well's broken hand-powered pump so safe water is readily accessible to everyone again.

Every $1 you give provides a child with safe water for a year!
