A message from the community

The repair of the pump has brought so much joy. It also thankfully brought relief to the residents who relied on the pump and experienced what it is like to go for five years without it working. We are all very grateful for the help and love. May you be blessed.

Dan Odhiambo, Teacher, Kimkasa Primary School.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Kimkasa Primary School in Molo, in Kenya's Nakuru County, has 500 students. When the hand-powered pump on the school's well broke down five years ago, students and staff were forced to drink and sanitize with dirty water from a river where cattle drank.

The school and surrounding community that also relied on the well had long given up hope of getting the pump working again when donors enabled Lifewater Canada to repair it. Now there is safe and accessible water for everyone, says teacher Dan Odhiambo. For that, he notes, schoolchildren and adults are very grateful.

Every $1 you give provides a child with safe water for a year!
