On behalf of Milimet community, I want to express my gratitude to the Lifewater Canada donors who funded the repair of our water pump. It has not been working for over a decade. This is another a new lease at life and a blessing. We are happy.

Milimet has about 300 residents. For the past 10 years, after the hand-powered pump on their well failed, all of them were forced to rely on harvested rainwater or to draw water from a dirty river several kilometres away.

“This old well is all we had as our clean water source and we loved it," recalls local resident Stanley Chepkemei. "But it was dead for so long that we didn’t think it could ever be fixed.”

Then Lifewater Canada, thanks to our donors, arrived and repaired the pump -- providing not only safe water, but hope to a community that was struggling without it for so many years. 

Stanley and his entire community are excited to have safe and accessible water for their domestic needs. They are also thankful to the donors for their kind and life-changing gesture.
