A message from the community |
On behalf of Tulwet Primary School and Milimet community, I want to express my gratitude to the Lifewater Canada donors who funded repair of our water pump that was broken for ten years. This feels like another lease at life and a blessing. We are happy.
Regards, Stanley Chepkemoi, head-teacher at Tulwet Primary School. |
Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
Tulwet Primary School in Molo, Nakuru County has 550 students. The school would harvest water from the rains, but it was never enough to serve the hundreds of students. This led the students to fetch water from the river. The school’s head teacher, Stanley Chepkemoi, says going to the river for water took a lot of time that should have been invested in academics. The students at Tulwet Primary School now have all the time to invest in their academics after Lifewater Canada donors funded the rehabilitation of the school’s borehole, bringing to life a borehole that produced water for the last time, ten years ago. “Ever since the pump was repaired,” says Stanley, “this water point has been busy. It is hard to believe that it was here all these years and felt into oblivion, now it is so conspicuous that there is always someone at the pump.” The entire Tulwet community and the surrounding neighbor are happy to have the borehole functioning again. They heartily expressed their gratitude to the donors. |
