A message from the community |

Teachers, students, and parents at Ngueni Primary School thank you for your love and kindness. We know we will always have safe drinking water at our school. The community is also grateful for the handwashing station, especially at this time that we are still battling COVID-19. -- School Administrators |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Ngueni Primary School in Mwingi Centra, in Kenya's Kitui County, has 270 students. All of them rely on rain to meet their water needs. Unfortunately, the school had very limited facilities for harvesting and storing rainwater, so students sometimes went thirsty with also no water for hygiene needs. Lifewater Canada donors recently provided the school with a rainwater catchment system which includes a large 10,000-litre storage and hand-washing station. Now, there is enough water stored during rainy seasons to provide during dry seasons. The system has enabled the students and staff to cultivate healthy living by drinking enough water and also by hand-washing whenever necessary. |
