Gbesa is in Kuje Area Council of Nigeria's FCT. This community is along Abuja international Airport Road. Despite its proximity to the national capital, Gbesa has lacked basic amenities including water.

There has been a very high demand on the community's shallow, hand-dug wells. Households with these wells had to secure them with a padlock to avoid waking up in the morning and discovering all the water was gone.

Thanks to Lifewater Canada donors, we visited Gbesa and drilled a deep well that is providing consistently safe and easily accessible water to the community. Our donors have brought renewed enthusiasm and a new lease on life to the residents.
