Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Maraba Mai-sauri, in Nigeria's Nasarawa State, has had a low standard of living. The community had a water well but it failed -- leaving everyone dependent on open hand-dug wells and a river, neither of which offered a consistently safe water for drinking and sanitation. Residents who walked to the river risked becoming sick from contaminated water, physical assault from criminals, and lost time that could be better used for schooling or caring for their families. Thanks to Lifewater Canada donors, the well in Maraba Mai-sauri has been rehabilitated -- including a new hand pump -- and safe, accessible water is flowing again. |
