A message from the community

We the people of Tilla village want to thank the entire staff of Lifewater for the rehabilitation of two water wells in our village. We pray to God to bless you.

Badamasi Tanko, Community Leader

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Tilla had a severe water shortage due to over-population and limited supply sources. A trek to the nearest community river takes about an hour. Because children do much of the water-carrying for their families, many would students arrive late for school and few were able to carry enough to ensure they occasionally had a bath.

Therefore, the entire community was extremely grateful after Lifewater Canada, thanks to our donors, rehabilitated two broken down wells including this one. The rehabilitations, and replacement of the hand-powered pumps on both wells, has ensured that safe and easily accessible water is flowing again in Tilla.
