A message from the community

We the entire village of Angwan Eggon Laminga wish to thank you for repairing our water wells.

Samson Makuli, Community Leader

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Laminga is a town in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nigeria's Nasarawa State. When their local water wells failed, life became very difficult for everyone. They were forced to depend on open streams and shallow hand-dug wells -- neither of which provided water free of contaminants that can cause diarrhea and other sicknesses.

During the dry season, Laminga experiences a sharp drop in the groundwater table, which causes the hand-dug wells to dry up and the streams to slow to a trickle -- leaving residents in an even more desperate situation.

Thanks to our donors, Laminga's broken wells (including this one) have been rehabilitated, including new hand-powered pumps. At long last, the community has safe water again and peace of mind.
