A message from the community |
We, the Bungu Primary School family, extend our warm appreciation for what you have done for our school and our community. We are so grateful to you for rehabilitating our only water source. We extend our appreciation to STADA Kenya for sending personnel to repair our pump with funds and equipment from Lifewater Canada. God bless you for the excellent job you are doing for communities. -- Lucy Achieng, Community Member |
Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
The water well at Bungu Primary School was serving about 1,200 students and members of the surrounding community before it broke down recently. When the well's hand-powered pump wouldn't work, everyone struggled to find safe water for drinking and other household needs. "The nearby swamp served as our alternative source of water, which we have to boil," recalls community member Lucy Achieng. Thanks to the partnership between STADA Kenya and Lifewater Canada and our donors, the hand pump on the Bungu Primary School well has been fixed and safe, accessible water is flowing again. |
