A message from the community

We, the Hongo Ongosa Primary School community, extend our joy and happiness for what you did for our school. It was tiring work but a job well-done by STADA Kenya and and Lifewater Canada. We are indeed blessed to have our water pump working again.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The water well at Hongo Ongosa Primary School was drilled in early 1990. Thirty years later, in 2020, the well's hand-powered pump failed and forced the school's 500 students to walk several kilometers each day in search of water for their drinking and sanitation needs.

Lifewater Canada donors funded the repair of the pump at the school, providing safe water for all the students. The time boys and girls were spending searching for water is now being used to study in their classrooms and improve their future.

Every $1 you give provides a child with safe water for a year!
