A message from the community |
On behalf of Kaosngo comunity, I express my gratitude to Lifewater Canada donors for getting our water pump fixed and saving us and our children from the danger of manually fetching water from a well. May God bless you. -- Boaz Okello, Community Leader |
Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
The well in Kasongo, in Kenya's Kisumu County, had a broken pump for about two years. Given that the well is the only source of water for over 300 community members, they were forced to remove the top and begin drawing water from it manually. This was dangerous because people could fall into the well, and the water from it might be contaminated. Lifewater Canada donors funded the pump's repair so the community could have safe and accessible water again with no danger of a child or adult tumbling into the well or becoming sick from tainted water. |
