A message from the community |
We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to Lifewater Canada and STADA Kenya for repairing our school well. May you continue with this good work which has made it possible for everyone at the school to drink clean water again. The well is now working and good water is flowing. Keep up the good work. -- Daniel Mboya Odoyo, Headteacher

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
The 540 students at Korowe Primary School relied on the school's well for the water needed for drinking and sanitation. But in 2019, the hand-powered pump on the well broke down. Because the school could not afford to repair the pump, for about three years, students relied on water from a nearby stream. This water isn't safe for consumption but it was all they had. Lifewater Canada donors funded the repair of the pump so the students could again have safe water. Daniel Odoyo, the Head Teacher, says having a good water source nearby helps the students to easily access water and save time that can be used for their studies, which then contributes to better academic performance. |
