Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Kopati Gawu is a community that for many years shared its water source -- the nearest river -- with domestic animals. The animals defecate in the river, yet the people still drew water from it because they had no other option. Sadly, the river has been a major source of infection and disease transmission in Kopati Gawu, especially among children. Many boys and girls have been too sick to go to school and some have even died, the locals told us. Recently, thanks to our donors, Lifewater visited the community and drilled a well. Now safe water is available to everyone and families' health has begun to improve. "We pray that God will enable you to extend more hands to other communities like us," one resident told us. "You have saved us from sickness, hospital expenses, and death." |
