The people of Imani Gawu have suffered since the hand pump on their well broke down five years ago. Everyone was forced to draw water from a stream or open hand-dug wells. Neither of these sources was safe, so people suffered waterborne sicknesses that sent them to the nearest hospital. Thanks to Lifewater Canada donors, we replaced the pump recently and safe water is finally flowing again in Imani Gawu. Children and adults are experiencing much-improved health. |
