The hand pump on the community water well in Sarkin Hausawa Gwari Babba broke down two years ago. After that, residents had to depend on a distant river to meet their drinking and other household needs. The long walk to and from the river put people at risk of being attacked by snakes or thieves. And the water they brought home to their families wasn't safe to drink.

But thanks to our donors, Lifewater has rehabilitated the well, including replacing the hand pump. Now safe, readily accessible water is available to everyone in Sarkin Hausawa Gwari Babba.
