Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

After the hand-powered pump on their community well broke down, it was the women and children of Angwan Gwandara Tufa who bore the burden of carrying heavy containers of water from a distant river back to their homes for everyone's drinking and other household needs. The four-kilometre walk to the river used up time that women needed for other household chores and time the children needed to be in school. Worse yet, the water they brought home was unsafe and caused sickness.

Lifewater's arrival, thanks to our donors, brought relief and joy to Angwan Gwandara Tufa's residents. We replaced the broken hand pump so safe water is readily available to everyone again.
