The villagers of Wakasi were not able to acquire clean and safe water for over a decade after the hand pump on the village well stopped working. The residents would drink and wash from a river. This happened for so long that it became a habit. But then our donors enabled us to rehabilitate the well, including replacing its old and beaten hand pump a new one. The villagers of Wakasi are now able to access clean and safe drinking water from their rehabilitated well. |
