Zay Zay is within the Soul Clinic community after the curve leading to Duport Road Community. Lifewater drilled a water well in Zay Zay in 2020. But due to growing demands on the well, its hand-powered pump failed a few weeks ago. A few residents could afford to buy safe water from local vendors. But most were forced to gather their water from open hand-dug wells that are prone to contamination and therefore to waterborne diseases.

Thanks to our donors, Lifewater's repair team arrived in Zay Zay recently and fixed the broken hand pump. Children and adults in the community were very happy after seeing safe and accessible water flowing again. They thanked Lifewater. We, in turn, thank the Murphy Rotary Club in North Carolina.
