A message from the community |

On behalf of my students, I wish to thank Lifewater Canada for the donation of a water tank and handwashing point at our school. We are happy to harvest clean and safe water for drinking. This is a beautiful gesture. We are grateful. Esther Kasyoka, Teacher, Mulinde Primary School |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Mulinde Primary School in Nguni, Mwingi central in Kenya's Kitui County, has 343 students. They all depend on rain for their water needs. Unfortunately, because the school hasn't had harvesting or storage facilities, it would run out of water within a week after the rains stopped, recalls senior teacher Samuel Maluki. Lifewater Canada donors responded by providing a rainwater storage system which includes a large 10,000-litre storage tank and handwashing station. Now, the school can harvest enough water to last until when the next rainy season arrives. Samuel says Lifewater Canada has solved his school's water challenges. Students are happy they have a place to drink and a permanent structure to wash their hands. |
