Kaida is a rural community in Nigeria's Gwagwalada Area Council. The community of 2,300 people had five water wells but only one was functioning. Every morning, women and children would wake up very early to join a queue at the well. They would spend valuable hours waiting to draw water for the families. The time spent at the well kept women from their farm fields and children from their classrooms.

Thanks to Lifewater Canada donors, Kaida has two new wells (including this one) that are providing safe and accessible water so residents can live healthier and more productive lives.
