A message from the community |

We the good people of Saminaka humbly bring to your organization our gratitude and greetings. We are saying a big thanks for providing us with water wells and hand pumps in our community. May almighty God bless you more and continue to uplift you in Jesus' name. |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

The women in Saminaka told our drilling team how difficult it was for them for more than 30 years to obtain water for their families. They would walk for about an hour each way to a pond. When a pregnant woman delivered during the dry season, other women would rush to get enough water for her and the newborn to be bathed. Also, children would sometimes wash only their faces or not bathe at all before going to school. And because the water available to them was seldom clean, the young and old in Saminaka suffered from skin diseases, stomach aches, vomiting, and diarrhea. With help from generous donors, Lifewater drilled two water wells (including this one) in the community that are giving residents a new lease on life. When we finished the water projects, women were dancing and celebrating. Lifewater Canada supporters gave them a reason to rejoice. |
