Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Dawaki Tsetsigya is community in Niger State that experienced a severe water shortage after the hand-powered pump on its only well broke down. About 80 percent of Dawaki Tsetsigya's residents began drawing water from an open pond that is equally accessible to domestic animals. Animal excrement dissolves in the pond and was finding its way into the water in many homes -- leading to widespread sickness. Thanks to Lifewater donors, we have rehabilitated the well, including complete replacement of the hand pump. Safe water is available to everyone again in the community, where people are very grateful. |
