Kacholla community in Kisumu County had no safe water for more than a month after the hand pump on the local well stopped functioning. Children and adults had to drink from nearby swamps -- putting themselves at great risk of contracting potentially diarrheal diseases. Thankfully, Lifewater Canada funded a rehabilitation of the well, including replacing the hand pump. Everyone has safe water again. |
