Dear Lifewater & Sponsor, We the leaders and the entire community members, express our deepest gratitude for the level of help you have given to our community. We are greatly impressed as a people, and wish you God's blessings and protection as you continue. Thanks once again, James S. Lawgar, Community Chair
Flower Mill Community is located across from the New Buchanan Community, along the Liberia Agriculture Highway. It was named after the first cassava processing milling company, that opened up before the Liberian civil war, and as a result of the war the mill was destroyed. The years following, people started to move into the area, building homes and a community. This lowland area covered in vegetation is great for cassava production. The challenge for the people here is the lack of safe drinking water. Hand dug wells were used because it was the only source of water they had. These wells run dry in the dry season, and become contaminated from run off during the rainy season. In this Community there are 5 churches, a public school, no hospital or clinic. The people of Flower Mill, thanked God for the Lifewater Health and Hygiene Team who conducted a workshop on June 5, 2018. This provided them with the knowledge on how to clean and protect the environment around them, and the importance of using safe clean water. This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
