For past years the community was drinking water from creeks and open hand dug wells, but now we have safe water from the new well with hand pump you provided.

Fanti Town (Quarter#1) has a population of 750 people. This area is located in the upper part of Buchanan City. They live in make-shift shelters. Men and boys spend most of their time fishing, cleaning the boats, and making fishing nets to sell. The women and girls make bread to sell and look after selling of the fish caught. The majority of the people immigrated here from Ghana and married Bassa women and bore their children.

On September 20,2018 a Health & Hygiene Workshop was conducted for this community. The workshop had a significant impact on the lives of the people of Fanti Town Q#1 through receiving  knowledge that will protect and help them live a healthier life.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
