Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Sugar Hill Community has a population of 840 people, and is located near the Government Hospital. Open hand dug wells and swampy water have been the only source of water for this community. It is primarily the responsibility of the women and children to collect the water, and during some of their travels criminals have attacked them and taken their belongings. Despite these unfortunate incidences, the women and children still had to go to get the water, regardless of fear and possible attacks. This new well will enable the children to attend school and keep them safe, and the women will have more time to look after and provide for their families. On September 24, 2018 a Health & Hygiene workshop was conducted for this community.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
