Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Big Zangar Town is located along the Grand Bassa Highway approaching Compound #1. The town was named after a man called, 'Joe Zangar' who founded and established this town in 1830. The main source of water for this town had been the nearby creek then later to an open hand dug wells in addition to what they already had as a source of water. Population is large with mostly women and children. They suffered from sicknesses like typhoid, diarrhea and running stomach due to the unsafe drinking water they get from the open hand dug wells and or from the nearby creek. Big Zangar Town does not have latrines and the environment is poorly manage because of these unhealthy conditions. There is no access to school. All the men, women and children are all engaged in farming activities to sustain their livelihood. The people of Big Zangar Town welcome the H & H Team and appreciated them for teaching them how to improve their way of living by practicing what they learn from the basic Health and Hygiene methods taught them. Every portion of water is useful for individual consumption as God sees it before creation. The people of Big Zarngar town for the first time in the history of the town to have a modern water sources (Hand pump) for them, this was a miracle and the Lord’s doing, a town that have lived on their traditional believed for decades, Joyfully gather with no question about God and their tradition to receive the gift of water. The villagers see the Love of Christ for them by providing them safe drinking water since in the life time to have a hand pump drilled in their town. It be God’s Love for them, said one community Leader. More besides, for the team to travel through the bad road crossing over bad bridges just to reach then with the project is really God who did it, so we thank you all the people who make this project possible He concludes. This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
