A message from the community |

Dear Sir: The New Life Community is very happy for the H&H Workshop and the lessons that were taught. They say a very big thank you to the Health and Hygiene Team. The new well has made a big impact on the health of our village already and we are considering ourselves very blessed by the addition of this handpump. Everyone has been exceedingly happy with the new well. Great thanks Andrew Roberts |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

This Community is located along the Duah Town Highway before reaching to the Rock Crushing site. There is junction leading to the Hope Mission passing the Mission right after an unfinished estate building before getting to New Jerusalem School. Right at a Provision Shop Is where the Pump is. New Life community is located at the traditional boundary between Margibi and Montserrado county, which means that this area is closed to Monrovia Liberia's capital, but yet lacks every basic social services to make Life much batter for the people of the area. The Community is very large and populated, no safe drinking water, no public school, no electricity and even community toilet. Their source has been open hand dug wells that normally go dry during the dry season. During the dry season, the water get dry and dirty. The dwellers spend almost two to three hours searching for water according to the Black leader. There are so many basic needs that this community are living without this poses a serious threat to the well being of its inhabitants. They had no safe drinking water sources until Life came in to help with a hand, no latrine and no good health facility. It is bad that the nearby bushes are used for toileting in. The open hand dug wells are where they fetched their drinking water that are surrounding the bushes. This practice has caused serious health problems such as running stomach, typhoid sickness, skin rashes and so on. Lifewater Liberia Health and Hygiene Team was the first to conduct Health and Hygiene Workshop and the training was well presented and received according to the Community.
