Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Poinahn Community is located in Compound # 3, Grand Bassa County. It was established a long time ago. The name Poinahn is a traditional name in the Bassa language meaning, 'A Place of Rescue'. Poinahn Community is largely populated with mostly women and children. Subsistence farming and petty businesses. In this community, unlike others no close-by connection with other communities, have to go long distances to fetch water from open hand dug wells and creeks for drinking and other domestic activities. The lack of safe drinking water and clinic in that area, for a long time, has caused the out- break of cholera, typhoid and other water borne diseases. At the end of the Workshop, on behalf of Poinahn Community, the participants thanked the Lifewater Health and Hygiene Team and their sponsor. They thank and praise God for sending the team to give them water. In efforts to provide safe drinking water and share the love of God with the rural communities the people of Poinahn Community q#2 were in a very happy mode and grateful to God for coming to their aid to provide safe drinking water the Lifewater Drilling Team was well received. They express their joy and appreciation to God for His love for them.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
