Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

26th Gate Community Quarter#2 has a population of approximately 650 people. Quarter#2 is separated by the main road from Quarter#1 on the road to Division 26th - the Firestone Rubber Plantation by way of Kakata city. The name of this community was coined by the police, because it was a check point for them on the road to Division 26th. The lack of safe drinking water has been of great concern for the people, having only hand dug wells and nearby creeks as their sources of water. The Health & Hygiene Workshop was conducted on May 20,2019 for this community, and 25 people participated. They were advised to dig pits for latrines, taught how to purify water through the chlorination process if they do not have access to safe drinking water, and how to continue good health practices to maintain a healthy environment. At the conclusion of the Workshop, the participants thanked the Lifewater family for delivering such knowledge to them.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
