Marshall City is strategic in the history of Margibi and Liberia at large because this city used to be the capitol city or head quarters and administrative seat of the Gibi tertiary which later become Margibi county when it joined an area taken from lower Bong County and Grand Bassa. It is known to be the original home of the Marbah Bassa, the owners of the place now called Monrovia or Marbah  point, which is now Liberia political capitol city. This city because of it location, host the Liberia Marine Training Institute (LMTI) is along the sea coast, partly surrounded by the Atlantic ocean, making it a one way entry city.

This area is found a few minute away from the Marshal City Hall within the vicinity of Liberia Maritime Training Institute. This  part of of the city is headed by Hon Marcus George best known as the Bassa Governor. The area is highly populated. with a high density of youth living there.

The area is quite sandy and there are no good sources of water as the shallow dug wells go dry constantly.  During the rainy season, sickness is a frequent visitor and in the dry season the wells do not produce. Diseases like typhoid, malaria, running stomach and skin diseases can physically be seen in the community while we were there doing the H&H workshop.

The Bassa Governor on behalf of his people thanked the Lifewater Liberia and their sponsor for a job well done. 

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
