Dear Sir: We are very thankful to God and to you who have brought this most excellent water point to our village. We accepted the teachings ion the workshop as important to our welbeing and are promising to you to carefully look after our new pump and to put into practice the lessons you shared. It is with deep gratitude that we say thank you and 'Bravo' to all who have met this most basic need. Respectfully Yours Honorable Isacc Konneh Town Chief |

Zerdougbo Town is located on the Compound #4 road within the LAC area. After you cross the water it is a 45 minutes to one hour drive from LAC plantation. The village is located right on the hill after crossing the water which is done by boarding a dug out canoe. Their main source of drinking water is from the river. The Lifewater H&H Team went across to the town by canoe and saw the way of living which is very deplorable. Life in this part of Grand Bassa like the rest of the other towns across this river is very challenging, with no basic social services such as schools or medical facilities. There is no market they have to always go across this river to get things for basic living. School children have to walked on foot every day, ride this canoe to go school to LAC plantation school system. Women and children, the sick person or pregnant woman in this town will have to board this same canoe to seek medical attention at the LAC hospital more than two hours walk from this town. The H & H Team taught the participants on basic hygiene practices to improve their health conditions particularly women and children The town people worked very hard to take the drill rig apart and carry it and all the euipment and supplies to the town. It was unbelievably exciting to see it come together and have the Lifewater drillers work with our men to make this well come to be. The water is fresh and cold and free of dirt like the river water. This pump is the most important thing our village has ever received and we will cherish it forever!
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
