Collecting water from a river in Kagolla Ugwe village in Kisumu County was always a struggle, this is because the river is far from most of the villagers. During rainy season, the river would swell up thus posing a danger to anyone trying to collect water. The villagers relied on the river for their water supply because the hand pump on the well was broken. 

But all that is in the past now that Lifewater Canada has rehabilitated the communal well and replaced the broken hand pump. The people of Kagolla Ugwe are now accessing clean and safe water from the hand pump.
