A message from the community |

On behalf of Wagai Primary School and the community at large, we wish to say thank you to the STADA and Lifewater Canada for rehabilitating our water pump. The pump failed to work last year and since then the school and the community had faced a lot of challenges due to lack of water. We are deeply grateful. ---Community Leaders |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

The only source of safe water for children and adults living in Wagai Primary School community is their local well. So when the well's hand pump failed, everyone had to walk several kilometres to the nearest alternate source. The time needed for these trips at least once each day kept parents from income-earning opportunities and kept children from school. Lifewater donors brought hope back to the community by enabling us to replace the broken hand pump, rehabilitate the well, and restore the flow of safe, easily accessible water. |
