After the hand pump on their community well failed, the long journey to a distant river that were necessary each day to bring water home to their families meant many of the children in Zuru Geteri weren't attending school regularly. And because cattle and other domestic animals drank from and defecated in the river, the water from it was so contaminated that it made many people sick. Then Lifewater, through the support of our donors, replaced the broken hand pump and restored the flow of safe, easily accessible water in Zuru Geteri.
