We really appreciate your love, caring, and concern for coming to our village to build toilets for us. We don’t know how to thank you enough. What you sow in this land will germinate and bear much fruit for Christ, the giver of all resources. Angwan Gatfri, Community Leader
Gatari is a growing community in Nigeria’s Nasarawa State with many impoverished families. Most rely on hand-dug wells for water, but the wells are generally not lined with concrete and as a result, are easily contaminated by human and animal waste. This tainted water causes diarrheal diseases which prevent parents from working and children from attending school – ensuring that families remain impoverished. Now, thanks to Lifewater Canada donors, a community toilet and hand-washing station have been installed in Gatari to minimize the risk of human waste contaminating their water sources. Through the help of other donors, we have also rehabilitated a broken-down well and drilled two new wells so safe water is readily accessible to everyone. All glory to God!
